A view of Tokyo taken from the South Observation Deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo

Hi, my name is Casey Corbin. I am an Assistant Language Teacher in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. I previously studied abroad in Tokyo in 2018, which inspired me to return to Japan as a a JET Program participant. My goals are to promote cultural exchange and immerse myself with Japanese culture.

I graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Strategic and Corporate Communication, with minors in Leadership Studies and Political Science. I also have a passion for finance and actively invest in the US Stock Market. While I am currently teaching English, my long-term goal is to enter the field of Finance.

I created casey.la to share my study abroad experiences (see Off To Tokyo!). A year later, I shared my experiences during a service trip to New Orleans (see Now in New Orleans). I am currently sharing my experiences as a JET Program participant (When You’re A JET…). Not only do I want to share my adventures with you, I aim to provide helpful guides on how to navigate life in Japan!

Unless this blog somehow goes viral, I will post infrequently. Feel free to view old stories, and stay tuned for new ones! Pleased to meet you!
